New Hampshire Int'l Speedway 1122 Route 106 N. Loudon, NH 03307 (map) |
In 1989, an impressive track was built. With 12 degrees of banking in the corners, 2 degrees of banking on the matching 1,500 foot straights and all this is a short 1 mile true oval shape… WOW!
Nicknamed the Magic Mile, the New Hampshire International Speedway hosts one of the final ten NASCAR Chase for the NEXTEL Cup races. The racing is tight and fast as the flat corners force NASCAR drivers to make their cars work on the bottom to be fast. Due to major tragedies in 2000 when both Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin were killed at the speedway, this led to major change including using restrictor plates. The safer barrier system was installed and used for the first race of 2003.
This track offers wonderful sightlines of the track, and is home to 2 of the largest spectator sporting events in New England with over 100,000 in attendance at each race. The course at New Hampshire International Speedway offers classic NASCAR oval racing at its finest.
