Infineon Raceway 29265 Arnold Dr Sonoma, CA 95476 (map) |
Bumpty Bump! The near 2 mile race course located near Sonoma California, the Infineon Raceway provides a hilly course for all its drivers. Opening in 1989 with a 2.5 mile long track for a NASCAR race, its first cup winner was Ricky Rudd.
Since 1998, the Infineon Raceway has given the race participants something new. NASCAR drivers now use "The Chute", a high speed straight instead of the winding carousel turn section of the course which makes it a shorter track. The Infineon Raceway always puts on a close and fascinating race for both drivers and fans. With a $60 million modernizing improvement- new permanent grandstands are now located on the start/finish line, and many other amenities have been made to accommodate all the NASCAR fans.
The Infineon Raceway is without a doubt an impressive raceway.
