Dover International Spdwy 1131 N. Dupont Highway Dover, DE 19903 (map) | What do Bobby Allison and Richard Petty have in common? They are both tied for 7 NASCAR victories at Dover International Speedway.
Designed in 1969, but shortened from 500 to 400 miles in 1997, Dover International Speedway is known as the Monster Mile. Dover downs is a high-banked, one mile long concrete track that will leave you breathless just watching the exhilarating NASCAR race!
One special and unique feature of this track is that it has a super-grip surface which allows drivers to tear down the raceway and get really aggressive. Watch out for those tires though- a surface like that will put you into the pits! The banking turns are at a crazy 24 degree angle and leave cars pushing for the straightaway. T
he grandstands at Dover Downs are fantastic for viewing. The original stands are still there and provide some of the most tantalizing views at the speedway. If you love NASCAR racing, and love all things unique, you will fall in love with Dover International Speedway!
